Do you know what your operating costs are?

Operating Costs Blog

Last week I was talking to a client about her operating costs. How much does it cost for her business just to exist? How much does she spend each month:

  • paying for her website hosting
  • paying me,
  • paying her Zoom subscription,

These aren’t costs involved in sales or delivering for customers, these are just costs that she pays even if she sells nothing.

You know what I’m about to say now, yep she didn’t know.

That makes it so difficult to know what to charge for your services.  It means you don’t know how much you need to make just to get to the end of the month.

It also means that filling your end of year accounts or personal tax return is much harder if you don’t have that information sorted.

If you are able to work it out for one month, it’s likely it will be a similar cost for each subsequent month.  But do check that.

If the idea of working out your operating costs fills you with dread, then get in touch. We can work through questions together and I’ll create a detailed spreadsheet that tells you exactly what your operating costs are. Book a free call with me now. I look forward to hearing from you.
